Key Responsibilities

As an Entry Level Insurance Admin, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the insurance team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Obtaining authorization from payer's case manager for services ordered/requested for prospects/referrals in a timely manner.
  • Documenting specific details related to the authorization, including effective and end dates, using the appropriate legacy system and associated software application.
  • Obtaining additional pre-certification as needed and consulting with the agency as required.
  • Serving as a liaison between the branch location and the payer on a regular basis.
  • Coordinating and communicating with the branch location regarding any changes or updates from the payer.
  • Resolving all customer requests, inquiries, and concerns in an expedient and respectful manner.
  • Problem-solving independently before referring issues to the Supervisor/Manager for resolution.
  • Performing eligibility and other related duties as required or assigned.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of experience in Medical Administration or Customer Service.
  • A Diploma or GED.
  • EMR experience is preferred, but not essential.

As an Entry Level Insurance Admin, you will be expected to have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
