Job Overview

The role of the Warehouse Lead is pivotal in our operations, providing leadership, training, and expertise to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our warehouse. Under the guidance of the Warehouse Manager and/or Supervisor(s), you will be responsible for directing daily activities, evaluating processes, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Your ability to lead by example, communicate effectively, and motivate your team will be key to your success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the daily activities of warehouse teammates to ensure the safe and successful completion of all related daily warehouse activities and operations.
  • Verify and ensure all applicable warehouse processes are followed, including handling damaged product check-in, and handle specific areas of responsibility as assigned by the Warehouse Manager and/or Supervisor(s).
  • Train and lead Warehouse Personnel, evaluating processes and striving for continuous improvements.
  • Communicate with Warehouse Management and Warehouse Personnel regarding identified process improvements, personnel improvements, quality, Out-of-Stocks (OOS), etc.
  • Lead and model the safety culture, striving for 100% compliance concerning safety policies and procedures.
  • Support, lead, and motivate a team to deliver results by communicating company goals, safety practices, and deadlines; engaging and developing teammates through effective on-the-job coaching and training.
  • Assist in interviewing potential candidates and influence and advise management on performance management matters.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge acquired through 1 to up to 3 years of work experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of all Warehouse Processes and Warehouse Systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Strong communication skills - written and oral.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere while walking and repetitively lifting 30 lbs.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize efficient and dependable warehouse processes.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification: Pallet Jack, Forklift, Double Forklift, Hy-Jaws, Ty-Guard, Triple Double, Switch Tractor, and Floor Scrubber.
