Position Purpose
The HR Services Payroll Analyst will be responsible for all aspects of processing payroll to ensure a timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related reporting for all Home Depot associates across the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, and Guam. This is a critical role that requires a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas to drive success.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer a high-volume weekly payroll process: Utilize a computer-based system to process payroll for a large number of associates, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related reporting.
- Collect, analyze, update, and reconcile payroll and benefit data: Gather and analyze payroll and benefit data on a weekly basis, updating and reconciling records as necessary to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Serve as liaison between users, vendors, and I.T.: Collaborate with users, vendors, and I.T. teams to research and resolve issues related to payroll and benefits.
- Create and implement auditing tools: Develop and implement auditing tools to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local authorities, and to eliminate erroneous payments.
- Contribute to SOX audit compliance: Assist with SOX audit compliance, ensuring that all payroll and benefit processes are in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Review error logs and transactions: Regularly review error logs and transactions to ensure that the payroll system is running as required and identify areas for improvement.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports
The HR Services Payroll Analyst will report to the Sr. HR Services Business Analyst, with no direct responsibility for supervising others.
Travel Requirements
This role typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements
The majority of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position, with frequent opportunities to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions
This role is located in a comfortable indoor area, with infrequent and not objectionable unpleasant conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Age: Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Work Permit: Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive experience in gross-to-net payroll: Experience with state and federal pay rule calculations and payroll regulations is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Tesseract HR/Payroll System: Experience with Tesseract HR/Payroll System is preferred.
- CPP certification: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred.
- Canada Payroll and Pay Rule processing: Experience with Canada Payroll and Pay Rule processing is preferred.
- Expatriate and Foreign National payroll processing: Experience with expatriate and foreign national payroll processing is preferred.
Minimum Education
The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Minimum Years of Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of work experience is required, with at least 3 years of recent experience administering a complete high-volume multi-state payroll process for a large company.
