About the Role
As a Customer Service Specialist at blithequark, you'll be responsible for managing a high volume of customer inquiries via phone, email, or other digital channels. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 35-40 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that may include working various 8-hour shifts across our standard business hours (5:00 am - 10:00 pm true time, Sunday - Sunday). You'll undergo comprehensive training, which will take place Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm CST, for 4 - 5 weeks.
Major Accountabilities
- Respond to incoming phone calls from clients, addressing profit qualification concerns, prescription status queries, and other related issues.
- Manually and inform callers on their prescribed benefits, use planning, formulary, premiums, and condition of purchases and insurance claims or inquiries.
- Listen attentively to customer concerns, document required details in computer systems, and identify issues to communicate solutions and measures to clients, pharmacies, and medical doctors.
- Make outbound calls to customers regarding prescription purchases and payment concerns.
- Navigate multiple data sources to resolve complex issues related to member prescription and/or pharmacy benefits, requiring fluency in computer navigation and toggling while confidently and empathetically engaging with the caller.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher) OR equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years of customer service experience, including delivering service over the phone.
- Knowledge of computer and Windows computer functions, including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex PC system functions.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word (ability to open and navigate a word document) and Microsoft Excel (ability to open and navigate a spreadsheet).
- Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules across our standard business hours (Sunday - Saturday, 5:00 am - 11:00 pm true time) in Pacific Standard Time or Mountain Standard Time, depending on location.
Preferred Qualifications
- Call Center experience.
- Customer service experience in a healthcare or insurance setting.
- Knowledge of adult learning in a virtual setting.
- Experience partnering with digital systems and devices (web, chat, email).
- Familiarity with medical jargon, health insurance plan documentations, or benefit plan design.
- Experience working in community service, behavioral health, disease prevention, health promotion, and behavior change (partnering with vulnerable populations).
Telecommuting Criteria
- Must have a dedicated workspace that is separate from other living areas and provides data privacy.
- Ability to maintain all business-sensitive records securely (if applicable).
- Must reside in an area that can obtain a blithequark-approved fast internet connection or utilize an existing fast net solution.
- Must be able to connect directly to the internet via a hardwired connection (either directly to the cable box or modem).
