About the Role

As an Assistant Teacher at Childcare Network, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, warm, and inviting classroom environment that fosters the growth and development of our young learners. You'll work closely with our Lead Teacher to provide exceptional care and education, build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, and contribute to the overall success of our center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom that promotes learning and exploration.
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, needs, and daily activities to encourage partnership and support.
  • Develop strong professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to promote parent and community engagement.
  • Maintain a high-quality standard of care by adhering to all minimum licensing, quality-rated, and accreditation guidelines, as well as company standards.
  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children, following our nutrition guidelines and best practices.
  • Utilize our science-based, proprietary curriculum and suggested supplement activities to create a fun and engaging learning environment tailored to each child's developmental needs.
  • Assist with keeping daily records, including attendance, child portfolios, USDA documentation, and other records required by local agencies.
  • Partner with team members and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditations, and family engagement.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A genuine warmth and understanding of the needs of young children and their families.
  • A positive attitude and self-image, with a commitment to innovation and creativity.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with coworkers, parents, and children.
  • A HS Diploma or GED, with a preference for early childhood education coursework or experience.
  • The ability to pass the state-required criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in early childhood education, preferably in an assistant teacher or teacher role.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and practices.
  • Experience with our proprietary curriculum or similar programs.
  • First aid and CPR certification.
