Job Summary
The Director, Online and Post-Traditional Affairs, will play a vital role in shaping the student experience for our online and post-traditional learners. This leadership position requires a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by adult and online students, as well as the ability to develop and implement effective strategies to support their success. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in student affairs, academic advising, or a related field, with a proven track record of leadership and team management.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to a team of success coaches to achieve student success and persistence benchmarks.
- Personalized Student Support: Develop and oversee processes for creating personalized roadmaps to success for each online and post-traditional learner.
- Collaboration and Partnerships: Work closely with Enrollment Management, Student Financial Services, and the Provost to ensure timely and efficient student registration, SAP, and Academic Appeals processes.
- Complex Issue Resolution: Serve as a go-to person for complex issues related to program navigation, including re-enrollment, changing majors, and discussing options.
- Process Improvement: Oversee stop-out and leave of absence processes, as well as credit for prior learning and prior learning assessment processes.
- Service Excellence: Model, support, and hold others accountable to the University's values – integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity, and teamwork.
- Employee Management and Development: Set clear expectations for admissions personnel, develop employees' skill sets, and provide ideal professional growth opportunities.
- Communication and Collaboration: Work within a team to support enrollment and retention goals for online and post-traditional learners.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (master's degree preferred).
- Supervisory experience of full-time employees.
- Minimum of 5 years' direct experience coaching, mentoring, and advising adult and/or online learners.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
- A deep understanding of the needs and preferences of adult and online learners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education, preferably in an online or post-traditional student affairs role.
- Knowledge of student success strategies and retention theories.
- Experience with CRM systems and student information systems.
- Ability to work in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
