About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Literacy & Professional Learning Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Sr. Director of ELA, this role is crucial in assisting the execution of the Academic Team’s strategy to ensure all curriculum materials and resources meet the highest standards of quality, are aligned to standards, and cater to the diverse needs of students, teachers, and families. The successful candidate will also play a key role in promoting and implementing our ELA curricula within school districts, fostering a collaborative environment that values inclusivity, respect, and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Literacy & Curriculum: Assist in evaluating ELA instructional materials, identifying and creating resources to support curriculum implementation and professional learning, revising and editing materials for accuracy and quality, and managing multiple projects effectively to meet deadlines.
- Professional Learning: Lead the development and delivery of professional learning for educators focused on literacy instruction and our curricula, collaborate with internal and external experts for ongoing training opportunities, support partner school leaders, and develop conference proposals and presentations aligned with our portfolio and literacy education landscape.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Engage in strategic initiatives related to the ELA portfolio, ensuring a collaborative and solution-oriented approach to achieving our goals.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 5 years of classroom experience teaching secondary students English Language Arts.
- Experience in supporting secondary multilingual learners and facilitating professional learning for secondary English Language Arts.
- Deep knowledge of the educational landscape in secondary English Language Arts and expertise in the teaching and learning of Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating instructional materials using various review tools and rubrics.
- Proven organizational skills, high attention to detail, strong work ethic, and superior time management.
- Dedication to excellence and a proven track record of accountability.
- Strong technology skills, including the ability to lead meetings via web conference tools and working knowledge of email, Google platform, MS Office 365, and Adobe.
- Superior project management skills with a track record of proven results and extraordinary written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
