Job Overview

As the Director of Teaching and Learning, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our district's teaching and learning strategies, with a focus on improving student outcomes and promoting academic excellence. This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position that offers a competitive salary, reflecting your skills and experience. Key Responsibilities

As the Director of Teaching and Learning, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing district-wide teaching and learning strategies that promote academic excellence and improve student outcomes
  • Providing leadership and support to teachers and staff to enhance their instructional practices and promote student-centered learning
  • Collaborating with other district leaders to develop and implement curriculum, instruction, and assessment programs that align with state and national standards
  • Analyzing data and research to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions that promote student success
  • Developing and managing budgets, grants, and other resources to support teaching and learning initiatives
  • Communicating effectively with students, parents, teachers, and community members to promote transparency and build trust
  • Staying up-to-date with best practices in teaching and learning, and making recommendations for professional development and training programs

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Four (4) years of successful teaching experience, with a proven track record of improving student outcomes and promoting academic excellence
  • A strong understanding of best practices in curriculum, teaching, learning, and instruction, including knowledge of Minnesota Academic Standards and associated assessments
  • Experience with Response to Intervention Strategies and Tiered Systems of Support
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • A strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a focus on promoting social-emotional learning and well-rounded education

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Cognitive Coaching Training/Experience, with a focus on empowering teachers and promoting student-centered learning
  • Knowledge of best practices in using technology to transform teaching and learning, including experience with personalized learning structures and 1:1 device initiatives
  • Experience with AVID and PBIS programs, with a focus on promoting college, career, and life readiness skills
  • A strong background in implementing Empowering Learners initiatives, with a focus on creating opportunities and uniting for success
