The Opportunity

As a Special Education Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, making a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs. You will be responsible for:

• Following and teaching lesson plans provided by the regular teacher
• Instructing based on subject and grade-specific curriculum
• Monitoring and assessing student achievements and outcomes
• Exercising classroom and behavior management skills
• Sharing your specialized knowledge to coach staff and support special education students

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to meet the following requirements:

• Active Teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s)
• Substitute Authorization (must have or be in the process of obtaining if license is expired)
• Three References with one by a previous direct supervisor
• Complete a Background Check for Scoot Education (you'll be reimbursed for the cost on your first paycheck!)
• Complete a Background Check for the Colorado Department of Education (to receive your Substitute Authorization; you will not be reimbursed for the cost)
