Key Responsibilities

  • Create a positive, engaging, and fun learning environment that encourages students to explore and understand math concepts.
  • Learn and implement the Mathnasium curriculum and teaching methods to deliver high-quality instruction.
  • Tutor students in math at all grade levels (1-12), adapting your approach to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to deepen your understanding of the Mathnasium Method and stay up-to-date on best practices.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and dynamic team environment, sharing ideas and expertise to drive student success.

Essential Qualifications

To excel as a Math Tutor at Mathnasium, you'll need:

  • A strong foundation in math, with proficiency through Algebra 2 (Pre-Calculus/Calculus is a plus).
  • Experience tutoring or working with children in grades 1-12 (previous experience is preferred, but not required).
  • A minimum age of 16 years old.
  • A commitment to working with us for at least 9 months.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications can give you a competitive edge:

  • Previous experience in teaching or tutoring math.
  • A degree in mathematics, education, or a related field.
  • Certifications or training in math education or a related area.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including:

  • A starting hourly rate of $13.50, increasing to $14.50 after initial training, and further increases with additional training.
  • A flexible schedule, with opportunities to work 8-12 hours per week on average.
