About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated NERA Research Associate to join our Auctions Group, located in our New York City or Washington, DC office. As a Research Associate, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, designing and conducting energy auctions, empirical analyses, modeling, and interfacing with regulatory authorities. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct energy auctions, including developing bidding strategies for bidders in auctions
  • Conduct empirical analyses and modeling to inform market pricing and auction design
  • Interface with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders to provide expert advice and guidance
  • Work independently within a team environment to deliver high-quality results and meet project deadlines
  • Communicate complex analyses clearly and coherently to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, applying this knowledge to improve our services and solutions

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong academic record, exceptional analytical skills, and quantitative skills. A Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, environment/energy sector, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in economics, business, or environment is highly desirable, as is prior experience in the energy markets, especially renewable energy markets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in economics, business, or environment
  • Prior experience in the energy markets, especially renewable energy markets
  • Experience with auction design and implementation, as well as empirical analysis and modeling
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and industry trends in the energy and renewable energy sectors

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive total rewards package, including a salary range of $90,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and location.
