About the Job

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Bookkeeping and Information professional to join our growing Accounting team. As a proactive and self-motivated individual with a strong understanding of US GAAP, revenue systems, and core data skills, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally. In this role, you will be at the forefront of cross-team collaboration, serving as the go-to expert for accounting partners in the data and engineering spaces, creating a unique blend of liabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with Technical Accounting, Functional Accounting, Engineering, Product, Finance, Tax, Legal, and other stakeholders on policies, processes, and projects, and help drive key framework initiatives and improvements
  • Design and plan comprehensive accounting data requirements to facilitate the seamless automation of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, compliance, and efficiency in financial cycles
  • Lead functional improvement initiatives to further streamline revenue tasks and shorten the revenue close schedule
  • Monitor data quality of journal entries generated via the Revenue Subledger and design Data Quality checks for identified use cases through accounting requirements design, ad-hoc analyses, new product launches, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to continuously improve our daily Revenue Reconciliation process and manage reconciliation analysis with the help of the analytics team
  • Review new product designs presented during internal Financial Compliance meetings and evaluate the impact on existing or need for new accounting requirements for the Revenue Subledger
  • Cross-collaborate with partnering teams on the journal entry streams for new or existing products for automation via the Revenue Subledger
  • Perform monthly revenue accounting close responsibilities, including but not limited to: GAAP revenue analysis, cost of revenue analysis, accounts receivable reconciliations, review journal entries, and review close package expectations
  • Ad-hoc analyses and projects as assigned

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting, data analysis, or business intelligence
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606 Revenue Recognition required; knowledge of IFRS a plus
  • Intermediate/advanced SQL skills and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data, Python a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and cross-functional teams, both internally and externally

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience with data engineering and accounting domains
  • Knowledge of revenue systems and financial cycles
  • Experience with automation tools and technologies
  • Strong understanding of data quality and data governance principles
