Job Overview
The Data Analyst II position is a critical role within blithequark's Data Ventures, where you will be at the heart of translating data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. This is not a remote position; the team comes into the office 3 days a week, and we are currently considering candidates located near Bentonville, AR, or Dallas, TX, who can work on-site. Key Responsibilities
- Delve into the core of data interpretation and analysis, playing a vital role in unraveling customer behavior through our products and services.
- Research, gather, and analyze customer data, transforming raw data into meaningful insights that inform business strategies and product development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Data Ventures, Digital Citizenship, Global Tech, and product groups, to analyze, assess, and provide insights on customer data that drive business systems.
- Be a key player in our Data Ventures/Data Enhancement team, focusing on the ethical and responsible use of data and technology to support customer success.
- Contribute to three significant areas: enabling new data products, improving product efficiency, and ensuring data safety and security.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in data analysis, a keen eye for detail, and excellent communication skills. The essential qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analysis, Math, Arts, Finance, or related fields. Alternatively, 2 years of experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or a related field is also acceptable.
Preferred qualifications include a graduate degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Analysis, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields, as well as related industry experience, particularly in retail, marketing, healthcare, or e-commerce. Successful completion of assessments in data analysis and Business Intelligence tools and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, Flash, Scala, R, Power BI, or Tableau) is also valued.
Skills and Competencies
- Solid exploratory data analysis skills and the ability to make data-driven proposals and solutions.
- Experience with languages used to manipulate data and draw insights from large datasets (SQL, Python, Presto, etc.).
- Strong storytelling experience with data visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.
- Experience with data quality tools like Google DataPlex (Collibra Data Quality or SAS Data Management or IBM InfoSphere Data Server).
- Experience with quality testing using Selenium, Cucumber, or Tosca.
- Experience in building multi-step ETL jobs/data pipelines and working with job scheduling systems.
- Experience handling complex data on cloud platforms (Ideally Google Bigquery and Hive).
- Experience with Data Modeling (E-R) and strong BI concepts.
- Basic understanding of statistics and AI models.
- Persuasive, engaging oral and written communication skills and the ability to build strong practical relationships.
- Comfortable with changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
