As a Customer Service Representative, you will serve as the initial point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, playing a critical role in facilitating patient healthcare needs.

Role Purpose and Responsibilities
As a Part Time Remote Customer Service Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Navigating electronic health records to obtain and validate historical information, capturing and documenting demographic and financial information, and maintaining patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA.
- Managing a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call, and providing excellent customer service.
- Leveraging critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity.
- Scheduling patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verifying and updating insurance, and checking insurance eligibility.
- Maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions.
- Communicating directly with providers (physicians) to relay pertinent clinical information during after-hours.
- Managing calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time.
Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: 2-5 years of recent healthcare or customer service experience.
- Typing Test: Minimum speed of 35 wpm, 90% accuracy.
- Location: Must live within 1 hour of St. Louis, Missouri.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electronic health records.
- Knowledge of insurance basics and healthcare operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Schedule and Compensation
As a part-time remote customer service specialist, you will work:
- Monday-Tuesday: 7:30am-4pm.
- Wednesday-Friday: 9am-1pm.
- Hours: 28 hours per week.
