Key Responsibilities
As a Grant Project Specialist at blithequark, you will be responsible for:
- Developing an assessment tool to evaluate the capacity of healthcare providers to deliver treatment to newcomer populations, defined as individuals newly arrived in Rhode Island with various immigration statuses (e.g., Refugees, Temporary Protected Status, Humanitarian Parolees, Asylees, Asylum Seekers, and those without status).
- Collaborating with the team to update the state's healthcare inventory and extract relevant data for the Health Systems Capacity Project.
- Distributing the assessment tool to healthcare providers in Rhode Island and collecting returned data.
Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to the key responsibilities, your duties will include:
- Conducting research on comparable assessment approaches and consulting with experts in treating newcomers to develop an effective capacity assessment tool.
- Identifying and selecting a digital database platform for collecting and analyzing data from healthcare providers.
- Utilizing the assessment tool to evaluate as many healthcare providers as possible through July 2025.
- Meeting regularly with Department of Human Services (DHS) staff to report on progress and strategize next steps.
- Analyzing collected data to draft a document outlining strengths and gaps within the Rhode Island healthcare landscape.

- Graduate-level studies in a community healthcare field.
- Understanding of the healthcare needs of culturally diverse populations and migrating communities.
- Research experience and proficiency in utilizing research databases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
