Job Description and Key Responsibilities

As a Project Management Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Project Management Office (PMO), planning, coordinating, monitoring, and implementing complex technical and non-technical programs to meet organizational goals. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building and providing direction and day-to-day operations to the PMO, with a scope that may include technical and non-technical programs for an FIS segment or division
  • Overseeing and providing guidance to personnel responsible for the organization's portfolio of projects, defining and developing project/program management best practices, processes, and policies to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and goals
  • Partnering with multi-departmental leadership and other stakeholders to identify opportunities and develop and prioritize projects according to relevant measurement criteria
  • Maintaining the efficiency of important aspects of the project management process, such as planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk assessment, and providing executive management with forecasts of available resources and program status
  • Supervising project and program managers to ensure all projects within the scope of the PMO are delivered within defined scope, quality, time, and cost requirements
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills, including:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or active pursuit of certification preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of project management standards, processes, procedures, and guidelines
  • Knowledge of industry project management best practices, such as the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Knowledge of various types of IT project methodologies and life cycles, such as conversions, incremental, rapid delivery, classic or traditional waterfall phases of analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and the correct project application
  • Knowledge of standards relevant to the software industry, such as ISO, CMM, Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and FIS products and services
  • Advanced skill in the use of project management software to manage projects, such as MS Project and auxiliary tools
  • Demonstrated skill in managing project budgets and timelines
  • Skill in the use of negotiation techniques to reach agreement when viewpoints vary
  • Excellent analysis, problem-solving, team, conflict management, and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with executives at both FIS and clients
  • Ability to set clear expectations, manage team performance, and build high morale among team members
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and carry out assignments that are sensitive in nature

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
