Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Claims Review and Validation: Review and validate patient claims to ensure accuracy and completeness, while acquiring any necessary missing payer information.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Coding Proficiency: Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and CPT coding (including Category II and/or E/M coding).
  • EMR Systems: Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., eCW, EPIC).
  • MS Office Applications: Competence in MS Office applications.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team Collaboration: Strong team collaboration skills complemented by a high degree of emotional intelligence.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to make informed decisions that align with business objectives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree in business, finance, health administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a primary care clinic setting is preferred.
  • Certification: Must hold valid Certified Medical Coder credentials from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CRC, CCS, CCS-P).
