About the Role
As a Patient Account Representative at blithequark, you will be the primary point of contact for patients, hospital staff, insurance companies, and external vendors. Your excellent communication skills, empathy, and attention to detail will enable you to effectively address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide personalized support. You will work in a fast-paced, remote environment, utilizing your technical skills to update and document financial data, analyze reports, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound and make outbound calls to patients, hospital staff, and external parties, providing timely and effective resolution to inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain high levels of productivity and quality while managing multiple tasks, ensuring timely resolution of analytic reports and follow-up activities.
- Utilize various resources, including payor websites, provider service lines, and analytics tools, to research and resolve patient account issues.
- Participate in Accounts Receivable (A/R) clean-up projects and other initiatives aimed at improving revenue cycle efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks, demonstrating initiative and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, listening actively and responding clearly and professionally.
- Collaborate with supervisors, peers, and other departments to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Provide training and support to new or existing staff members as needed, sharing knowledge and expertise.
- Identify opportunities to reduce call volumes and wait times, improving overall customer satisfaction.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook (required).
- Experience with Epic or other patient accounting systems (preferred).
- 1-2 years of previous customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare or financial services setting (preferred).
