Key Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in planning and implementing approved curricula in the classroom, ensuring a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Guide and facilitate daily activities, field trips, and selecting equipment and materials to promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth in children.
- Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a smooth-functioning center, adapting to the needs of children and families as required.
- Write weekly observations and assessments to track child development and progress, using this information to inform teaching practices.
- Engage with parents through conferences and home visits, fostering a sense of community and promoting parent involvement in the program.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate environment, ensuring the well-being and safety of all children.
- Support the teacher in maintaining a comprehensive portfolio assessment for each child, including weekly observations, examples of work, and developmental assessments.
- Participate in staff training, meetings, and board meetings as requested, contributing to the ongoing development of the program.
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent and a National Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC) for Pre-school or Infant/Toddler Endorsement.
- Alternatively, an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is acceptable.
- Passion for working with young children and a commitment to supporting their development and well-being.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances, prioritizing the needs of children and families.
