Job Summary:

As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care, counseling patients on the effective use of medications, and ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Experience:
    • Engage patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, ensuring a positive patient experience.
    • Resolve patient issues promptly and respond to inquiries to guarantee satisfaction.
    • Model and share customer service best practices with colleagues to deliver a distinctive and cheerful experience.
    • Connect with patients by anticipating needs and proactively offering services, promoting a shift from transactional to relational pharmacy care.
  • Clinical and Pharmacy Tasks:
    • Counsel patients and answer questions regarding medication use, side effects, interactions, and contraindications.
    • Perform pharmacist tasks, including compounding, medication therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
    • Review, interpret, and accurately dispense prescribed medications when required.
    • Ensure the pharmacy operates according to guidelines, company policies, and standards.
  • Operations and Management:
    • Assist the pharmacy manager in establishing procedures that promote efficient workflow, assigning tasks, and soliciting colleague ideas.
    • Ensure the utilization of all components of the pharmacy management system related to state and federal controlled substance regulations.
    • Maintain current knowledge of information technology related to pharmacy systems, including workflow, prescription fulfillment, billing, and clinical documentation.
    • Participate in activities that reflect the unique communities we serve, as mentioned by the supervisor, healthcare leader, or pharmacy manager.
  • Individuals and Performance Management:
    • Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring and training, developing staff performance through coaching and providing constructive feedback.
    • Foster collaboration and motivate colleagues by establishing expectations, monitoring progress, and encouraging a shared vision.
  • Training and Self-Awareness:
    • Maintain current knowledge and required permitting/credentialing/certification as established by federal and state guidelines.
    • Stay updated on advancements in retail and management, seeking best practices that would enhance performance.
    • Pursue professional development by self-assessing performance, soliciting feedback, and using the pharmacy manager and healthcare leader as mentors.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Licensure: Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the region.
  • Experience: Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant state and federal controlled substance regulations.
  • Certification: Certified Immunizer or able to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacist in a retail setting, including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems, and insurance.
