Position Purpose

As a Senior Product Manager - AI Products, you will play a pivotal role in defining and executing our AI strategy across various departments. Your mission will be to identify and prioritize AI use cases that align with our strategic goals, collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives, and ensure we remain at the forefront of innovation in the retail industry. Your expertise in AI, product management, and leadership will be instrumental in leveraging technology to optimize processes, improve customer experiences, and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Planning (50%):
    • Develop a deep understanding of end-users and translate business goals into product strategies that drive value.
    • Communicate product direction and priorities to development teams, matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
    • Define goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value and make recommendations for product backlog refinements.
    • Manage and groom the product backlog, making future decisions based on the value to be delivered.
    • Partner with Finance to create business plans for new opportunities and monitor research and the competitive landscape.
  • Delivery & Execution (20%):
    • Formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research and testing.
    • Document, review, and ensure quality and change control standards are met.
    • Create, prioritize, and accept user stories, incorporating them into release planning.
    • Make daily product decisions that drive value and identify pros, cons, issues, obstacles, dependencies, and value associated with features and enhancements.
    • Participate in standups, iteration planning sessions, product demos, and retrospectives.
  • People (30%):
    • Foster collaboration with team members to drive value and identify and resolve impediments.
    • Advocate for modern software development practices and act as a proponent for the end-user and stakeholder.
    • Guide junior team members in strategy, alignment, analysis, and execution tasks.
    • Participate in talent acquisition, development, and retention activities.

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in product management, preferably in AI, machine learning, or data science.
  • Strong understanding of AI use cases and their application in business contexts.
  • Proven track record of managing products from concept to launch.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Master's) in a technical discipline or business administration.
  • Extensive experience in AI, machine learning, and data science.
  • Proven track record of managing AI or technical products from concept to launch.
  • Experience in creating and executing product roadmaps, defining product vision, and setting success metrics.
  • Ability to align product initiatives with business goals and leadership priorities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to drive innovation and long-term vision for AI applications.
  • Strong analytical skills to derive actionable insights from complex data sets.
