About the Role: Customer Service Specialist – Remote/Hybrid

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Customer Service Specialist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a remote/hybrid environment, combining the flexibility of working from home with the collaborative benefits of occasional on-site work. As a Customer Service Specialist, you will play a critical role in building customer relationships, resolving challenges, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through responsive and professional communication, primarily via inbound phone calls.

  • Utilize computer systems and software to manage customer interactions, including account selection, product identification, order placement, and order management.
  • Resolve pricing and invoicing discrepancies, apply credits as necessary, and implement return procedures to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with company policies.
  • Work effectively in a team-based environment, contributing to a positive and productive work atmosphere.

Essential Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a similar industry or environment.
  • The ability to commute to our facility in Waterloo, IA, for training and occasional on-site work.
  • A dedicated and secure workspace at home with stable internet connectivity (upload speed > 5 megabits per second, download speed > 15 megabits per second, and ping < 80 milliseconds).
  • Proficiency in operating and navigating multiple PC-based programs simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Previous experience in a remote or hybrid work environment.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) software or similar systems.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Certifications or training in customer service, sales, or a related field.
