About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our remote team as a Customer Service and Data Entry Specialist. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists and customers, ensuring seamless interactions and efficient data management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize Walgreens' solution information passage strategies and rules to process new patient enrollment by entering information into the appropriate system.
  • Handle patient medication requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing.
  • Investigate to obtain missing prescription data, and decipher clinical abbreviations (SIG codes).
  • Resolve all data entry-related exceptions.
  • Handle correspondence to patients (inbound calls, chats, messages) and make outbound calls to prescribers and patients on a case-by-case basis.
  • Settle Outlier Issues by investigating, gathering data, making adjustments, and resubmitting for processing as per individual patient requirements.
  • Make phone calls to guarantors and others to obtain information, gain authorization, or otherwise resolve the Outlier Issues.
  • Provide support to Pharmacists, both those in the office and those at other locations.
  • Recognize and communicate issues to senior-level staff as necessary.

Essential Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Pharmacy Technician license from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Essential level computer skills, including starting and closing the computer, using the mouse to point and click, starting and closing programs, switching between programs, saving files, printing reports, and accessing data online.
  • Essential web search skills, including opening a browser, typing in URLs in the correct field, using a search engine, bookmarking a website, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and completing forms online.
  • Intermediate level keyboarding skills, including typing at least 25 WPM, typing by memory, and organizing reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services, and assessment of customer satisfaction.
  • Advanced level keyboarding skills, including typing at least 35 WPM, typing by memory, and organizing reports.
  • Familiarity with Spanish and English.
