We are now seeking an experienced Contract Copy Editor and Proofreader to join our team, working remotely to edit and proofread meeting minutes and notes to the highest standards of quality and accuracy. About the Role: Contract Copy Editor and Proofreader In this critical role, you will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and proofreading meeting minutes and notes to ensure that they are accurate, complete, and adhere to our strict style guide and formatting requirements. Your keen eye for detail and strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and language will be essential in delivering high-quality documents that meet our clients' expectations. As a Contract Copy Editor and Proofreader, you will work closely with our team of minute-takers and notetakers to review and edit drafts, verify the accuracy of meeting minutes, and ensure that all documents are formatted correctly and consistently. Key Responsibilities: • Proofread and edit meeting minutes and notes for accuracy, language, and quality, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax. • Ensure that all minutes documents adhere to our provided style guide and formatting requirements, using Word or PDF document templates. • Edit and correct minutes documents to match our style guide, ensuring consistency and quality throughout. • Verify the accuracy of meeting minutes documents using meeting recordings, agendas, and transcripts, identifying inconsistencies, errors, and missing information. • Review and edit drafts prepared by our minute-takers and notetakers, ensuring that content is correct, complete, and consistent in style. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong foundation in written English and grammar, as well as experience in copy editing and proofreading. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and proofreading tools like Grammarly is essential, and knowledge of minute-taking or note-taking for board meetings, seminars, and conferences is highly desirable. Understanding of meeting/board governance and parliamentary meeting protocols (e.g., Robert's Rules) is also a plus. Essential Qualifications: • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and familiarity with proofreading tools like Grammarly. • Excellent written English and grammar skills. • Experience in copy editing and proofreading, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience or knowledge of minute-taking or note-taking for board meetings, seminars, and conferences. • Understanding of meeting/board governance and parliamentary meeting protocols (e.g., Robert's Rules). • Familiarity with remote work tools and technologies, including video conferencing and project management software.
