Summary of the Web Tester Role

The primary function of the Web Tester is to develop, implement, and document all testing activities. This encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Test planning, to ensure thorough coverage of our web applications.
  • Test execution, identifying defects and areas for improvement.
  • Defect tracking and reporting, using bug tracking systems to document and manage defects.
  • Follow-up and issue resolution, working closely with the development team to resolve defects and improve the overall quality of our applications.

Job Responsibilities in Detail

As a Web Tester at Workwarp, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Executing test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures to ensure the quality and functionality of our web applications.
  • Testing system modifications to prepare for implementation, ensuring that changes do not introduce new defects or affect existing functionality.
  • Developing testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability, to provide comprehensive testing coverage.
  • Documenting software defects using a bug tracking system and reporting defects to software developers, facilitating prompt resolution and minimizing the impact on our applications.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and documenting problems with program function, output, online screen, or content, to ensure that our applications meet the highest standards of quality and user experience.
  • Monitoring bug resolution efforts and tracking successes, to ensure that defects are resolved efficiently and effectively.
  • Creating or maintaining databases of known test defects, to inform future testing efforts and prevent the reintroduction of resolved defects.
  • Planning test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates, to ensure that testing is completed on time and meets project requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

  • An Associate's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, providing a solid foundation in technical principles and practices.
  • Experience testing software, including web applications, and a understanding of software development life cycles.
  • Experience writing test documentation, such as Test Plans, scripts, and test results reports, demonstrating your ability to create clear, concise, and comprehensive documents.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret test results, providing recommendations to improve testing and contribute to the continuous improvement of our applications.
