Job Overview and Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, USA. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a lead technical role, providing technical guidance and counsel to application groups, clients, and Engineering Chiefs for their technology space conditions. Your responsibilities will include designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting programs using Integrated development practices. You will also be responsible for providing the strategy and design for projects related to your technology area, including upgrades and integrations.

  • Act in a lead technical role, furnishing technical guidance and counsel with application groups, clients, and Engineering Chiefs for their technology space conditions
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document programs using Integrated development practices
  • Provide the strategy and design for projects related to your technology area, including upgrades and integrations
  • Use trend-setting technologies and techniques to integrate your technology space with other technology areas, enabling the creation of new or extended heterogeneous environments
  • Develop new documentation and departmental technical procedures
  • Direct the gathering of performance metrics to help with determining hardware and technical tools needed to support project transaction volumes, response time, and system availability targets
  • Ensure quality, security, and compliance requirements are met for supported technology space
  • Maintain existing code, performing enhancements as part of a delivery team, delivering major/minor security fixes, and vulnerability remediation as required

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas, including:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • At least 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a related position, including software development experience
  • 4 years of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) experience
  • 4 years of web application development experience
  • 4 years of Java experience
  • 4 years of database experience with at least 2 of the following platforms: Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, MongoDB
  • 3 years of Spring framework experience, such as Spring Boot
  • 3 years of Serene or Soap web services experience
  • 2 years of experience with Precise 8 or 9 or newer updates for legacy applications
  • 2 years of experience with one or a combination of the following Enterprise Pipeline Tools: uDeploy (UrbanCode Deploy), TFS (Team Foundation Server) GIT, Sonar, Fortify, Blackduck
  • 1 year of Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) experience
  • 1 year of Agile experience

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

While not required, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:

  • Experience with cloud-based technologies and platforms
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools
  • Experience with cybersecurity and compliance frameworks
  • Experience with data analytics and machine learning
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
