It's your career, Shelter it!</b></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p><b>Claims Adjuster </b>– <b>AmShield</b></p><p><b>$23.27 - $28.84 minimum starting pay</b></p><p><b>Job Level: Individual Contributor</b></p><p></p><p>Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands.  Please remember that this range is the starting base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position.</p><p></p><p><b>What You Will Be Doing: </b></p><p></p><p>Investigate, analyze, evaluate, and settle insurance claims involving liability issues and bodily injury losses. Perform complete liability, coverage, and bodily injury investigations. Determine validity of claims, verifies coverage, establishes value of losses, and negotiates settlements within limits of authority, consistent with established procedures and legal and contractual obligations. Coordinate claims handling of multiple adjusters.</p><p></p><p><b>What We're Looking For: </b></p><ul><li>Excellent investigative, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.</li><li>Superior skills in negotiation, communication and customer service are required.</li><li>Ability to learn through on-the-job training and claims training courses related to the study of insurance policy coverage analysis and interpretation, investigative procedures, medical terminology, injury causation and treatment methods.</li><li>Must exhibit strong skills in technology to include keyboarding and familiarity with word processing software, electronic communications, and Internet research capabilities.</li><li>Ability to maintain schedules and deadlines and work well with others.</li><li>Requires good basic but advancing knowledge of medical terminology. May require basic knowledge of automobile repair.</li><li>Must be able to travel overnight as job requires.</li><li>Resident adjusters must have high-speed Internet access (via DSL or cable modem) from their residence to support internal systems.</li><li>Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation</li></ul><p></p><p>Shelter's uncompromising commitment to excellence doesn't stop with our customers.
