We are seeking an Experienced Donation Coordinator 2 - Night Shift Position to join our team and contribute to our mission. **Summary of Responsibilities** As an Experienced Donation Coordinator 2 - Night Shift Position, you will be responsible for: * Responding to referrals for the purpose of evaluating potential tissue donation and successfully completing the authorization or donor disclosure process with the next of kin * Performing activities associated with screening for medical suitability, family approach, authorization, or donor designation, and coordinating the tissue donation process following established LifeLink policies and procedures * Identifying the legal next of kin, completing the approach process, working empathetically and professionally with grieving families to communicate donation opportunities, conducting the medical and social history interview, and completing the authorization or donor disclosure process * Performing a detailed donor evaluation following policies and procedures to determine medical suitability based on established criteria, obtaining contact information necessary for family/next of kin approach, gathering pertinent logistical information to coordinate the donation process, and bringing about a successful authorization or donor disclosure for the recovery of tissues * Interacting with referring institution/hospital, medical examiner/coroner, and funeral home personnel to complete the tissue donation screening/evaluation process, communicating with appropriate personnel according to established protocols with exemplary customer service * Completing timely and appropriate documentation of all processes following established procedures * Verifying the accuracy of referral data entry and donation outcomes within the designated electronic system, routinely reviewing tissue referral activity reports for data entry accuracy * Participating in training and departmental quality review activities for donor screening and authorization/donor disclosure processes at the direction of leadership * Attending and participating in required departmental meetings and/or workshops for ongoing education and professional development **Requirements** To be successful in this role, you will need: * A medical-related degree/certification, with experience in a related tissue banking position or appropriate experience in a medical environment or family/social services field * The ability to multitask, perform in a high call volume environment, and work in a team setting * The ability to handle a work schedule that may require response to emergency coverage * Strong communication and interpersonal skills to converse with all levels of medical professionals * The ability to work independently, adhering to prescribed guidelines and protocols, while exercising good judgment in seeking appropriate guidance as required * The physical ability to lift and carry equipment varying in weight up to 25lbs **Working Conditions** As an Experienced Donation Coordinator 2 - Night Shift Position, you will work in a 24/7 call center/office environment, working up to 12 hours on shifts, including working after business hours, weekends, and holidays. Potential for remote work consistent with the needs of LifeLink, the department, and in accordance with company policy.
