WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB: The American Red Cross seeks an experienced Senior-Level Full Stack Developer: • Design, develop, and implement code to create, modify, and/or integrate technology that fulfills the needs of customers and supports business operations. • Ability to architect, deliver, and support complex solutions involving SQL/Mongo DB and various other peripheral systems including but not limited to on-premises, SaaS, and Cloud-based applications. • Apply specialized technical expertise to solve critical issues and execute projects of high complexity, scope, size, and/or risk. • Execute procedures, and monitor capacity, and performance. • Serve as a lead on projects and provide training and guidance to other staff The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home, can be located anywhere in the United States, and will work on an East Coast schedule (8am – 5pm core hours). Because the position supports the Disaster Cycles Support team, this will require IT application support after hours and on weekends, especially during a period of major disasters. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities) : 1: Design and write code for highly complex technology using a variety of applications, techniques, and tools to fulfill customer needs and support business operations while aligning with the organization’s strategies and goals. Evaluate, install, and customize vendor-supplied or commercial-off-the-shelf technology. 2: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, testers and product managers, to achieve project goals, resolve conflicts, and leverage diverse perspectives to drive innovation 3: Test, troubleshoot, diagnose, isolate, debug, resolve, and document complex technology problems. Provide escalated technical support. Perform quality assurance reviews of new and existing technology. 4: Provide training and guidance to other staff. Lead and contribute technical expertise to projects. 5: Gather, analyze, document, and articulate user and/or technical requirements. 6: Maintain documentation including program libraries and technical manuals. Prepare metrics and reports related to projects, tasks, and operations. 7: Plan and execute deployment and disaster recovery activities as needed. Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge. Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications): • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. • Experience: Minimum 7 years of software development experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. • Proficient in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and experience with front-end frameworks/libraries like Blazor, React, Angular, or Vue.js • Hands-on experience with .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET, MVC, .NET Core, WCF, and Entity Framework) • Experience with Azure platform services • Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB/Cosmo DB, or NoSQL databases • Understanding of RESTful API design and development • Version control systems like Git • Proficiency in web development tools and IDE WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (preferred qualifications): • Strong communication skills: both written and verbal • Strong problem-solving: must have ability to analyze complex technical issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions while considering factors such as scalability, performance, and maintainability of systems • Attention to detail: should demonstrate thorough attention to details in his/her work ensuring accuracy, reliability, and adherence to coding standards, documentation, and best practices to deliver high quality solutions • Adaptability: be able to adapt to new tools, languages, and frameworks to stay current with industry trends and best practices • Teamwork and collaboration: must work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, testers and product managers to achieve project goals, resolve conflicts, and leverage diverse perspective to drive innovation • Ability to be 24-hour on-call during periods of major disaster. Ability to communicate highly technical information effectively to various audiences. • Travel: May travel to participate in meetings as required. • Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted). +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ PAY INFORMATION: The starting annual salary range for this position is $115K – $125K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
