Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced medical transcriptionist to join our team as an independent contractor. As a transcriptionist with IMT, you will be responsible for transcribing complex IME dictations and medical records, utilizing your knowledge of medical terminology and formatting skills in Microsoft Word. This is not a typical medical transcription role, as our reports are lengthy and complicated, often requiring days to transcribe a single document. Key Responsibilities

• Transcribe complex IME dictations and medical records with high accuracy and attention to detail
• Utilize advanced formatting features in Microsoft Word, including space between paragraphs, hanging indents, complicated tables, and keep-with-next formatting
• Populate data in report templates of varying complexity
• Meet deadlines, which range from two to eight hours, depending on the length and complexity of the dictation
• Conduct research as needed to ensure accuracy and completeness of transcribed reports
• Collaborate with our team to ensure high-quality output and efficient workflow

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and transcription guidelines
• Excellent grammar, punctuation, proofreading, and research skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word 2007 or later, including advanced formatting features
• Ability to create complicated tables and utilize Word's higher-level formatting functions
• High-speed internet connection with a download speed of greater than 50 Mbps
• USB foot pedal and a program capable of playing DSS voice files (such as Express Scribe)
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a more competitive candidate:

• Direct experience with IME transcription and record summaries
• Experience creating record summaries from PDF files
• Familiarity with legal reports and medical terminology in a legal context
