About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of secure and efficient web and cloud applications. As a Test Development Engineer, you'll design and develop processes to fortify security, provide ongoing support for operating system updates, and collaborate with teams to troubleshoot and improve security features. If you have a strong background in programming, system security, and working with cross-functional teams, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Google's security initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Security Process Development: Design, define, and implement security hardening processes, providing clear guidelines to manufacturing partners (North America).
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and external partners to drive security and testing improvements.
  • Troubleshooting and Optimization: Collaborate with various teams to identify and resolve security issues, ensuring seamless operation across systems.
  • System Maintenance: Oversee operating system updates, ensuring the integration of periodic hardening updates, network security improvements, and the smooth operation of test stations.
  • Testing: Write and maintain Python-based test scripts based on detailed test specifications, and assist in system test failure analysis.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Perform thorough root cause analysis on test failures and implement corrective and preventive actions to enhance system reliability.

Qualifications

We're looking for individuals with a strong background in software development, system security, and cross-functional collaboration. If you have the following qualifications, we'd love to hear from you:

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in software development, hardware troubleshooting, or test engineering.
  • Security: Experience with security protocols, server administration, and network hardware.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python for software development and system integration. Experience with input/output systems and operating systems.
  • Systems Engineering: Experience in working with operating system design and RAM prearranging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud Development: Experience in cloud platform software development.
  • Security/Software Development Teams: Proven experience working in security or software development teams.
  • Manufacturing Testing: Hands-on experience testing products for manufacturing, including working with ODM, OEM, and JDM partners.
