Job Summary and Responsibilities

The Support Specialist will be an integral part of our Member Services team, reporting to the Member Services Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our customers' journey through the healthcare reimbursement system, delivering superior quality experiences one interaction at a time. This position requires partnering closely with customers to provide valuable insights, education, and direction for online support, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service.

  • Accountable for providing high-quality, customer-focused telephonic service using knowledge of procedures and systems to meet and/or exceed member satisfaction while educating constituents on blithequark policies and programs.
  • Consult with members to support easy navigation of available online tools, from checking account balances to submitting claims.
  • Accountable for resolving issues without management intervention to remove barriers for the member.
  • Responsible for initial call skills after training and may be cross-trained to other skills on a later date.
  • Accountable to protect sensitive member information with discretion.
  • Responsible for all levels of member engagement, while prioritizing effectively to meet member service goals and deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Training and Development

This is a general consideration position, and while it is not for an immediate opening, we are accepting applications and resumes for future opportunities. Our comprehensive training program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in this role. The training program includes:

  • Approximately five weeks of paid training, during which you will learn about our systems, procedures, and policies.
  • A product exam at the end of training, which requires a passing score of 85% to continue in the position.
  • Ongoing support and coaching to ensure your continued success and growth in the role.

Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for individuals with a strong customer service background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Preferred qualifications include:

  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service, with prior call center experience preferred.
  • No degree required, but a strong foundation in customer service principles and practices.
  • Computer knowledge and skills, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies.
  • Basic understanding of medical and reimbursement terminology preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to de-escalate and handle member issues without utilizing a supervisor.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including an hourly pay rate of $17.50 (equivalent to $36,400 per year), with opportunities to earn bonuses and incentives.
