**Experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist – International Freight Forwarding Industry**

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team, drive business growth, and develop a deep understanding of the international freight forwarding industry. **Job Summary:** We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of our ocean product. As an Ocean Product Development Specialist, you'll work closely with our MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and sales and operations to implement strategies that increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality. This role requires excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as a strong understanding of the international freight forwarding industry. **Key Responsibilities:** * Execute strategies to support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of the ocean product * Collaborate with the MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and sales and operations to implement pricing programs, review volume targets, and develop an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement * Communicate both internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and work closely with the MD, Ocean, along with the global trade lane team, sales and operations to communicate direction and deliverables * Direct and in-direct customer contact will also be required to promote the ocean product and support sales and operations as needed * Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed upon KPI's are being met or exceeded * Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity; submit reports as required * Work with the MD, Ocean, along with the regional ocean management team, to promote the ocean product and support sales and operations as needed * Manage annual budget; control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis in order to achieve budget targets * Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product **Essential Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., logistics, supply chain management, business administration) * At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing * Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus * Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills **Preferred Qualifications:** * Master's degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., logistics, supply chain management, business administration) * Experience in a similar role or industry * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects **Skills and Competencies:** * Strong understanding of the international freight forwarding industry and ocean product development * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits:** At blithequark, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
