Role Summary

As a Remote Medicare Sales Specialist, you will be the trusted voice guiding Aetna Medicare members through complex health‑care options. You’ll blend empathy with expertise, delivering compliant, education‑rich conversations that help members select the plan that best fits their unique health needs and financial goals. Key Responsibilities

Member‑Centric Outreach

  • Execute inbound and outbound campaigns that educate existing and prospective Medicare members on Aetna’s suite of Medicare Advantage (MAPD) and Dual‑Eligible Special Needs Plans (DSNP).
  • Conduct fully compliant presentations that adhere to CMS, state, and internal regulations.
  • Assess members’ health‑care needs through targeted, open‑ended questioning while demonstrating superior active‑listening skills.
  • Provide clear, concise explanations of plan benefits, enrollment processes, and cost structures.

Sales & Acquisition

  • Achieve or exceed monthly acquisition targets, conversion rates, and other key performance metrics outlined in the annual performance plan.
  • Utilize approved scripts, product guides, and objection‑handling techniques to close sales while maintaining a consultative approach.
  • Cross‑sell complementary Aetna products (e.g., dental, vision, supplemental insurance) to increase member value and revenue.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Maintain a rigorous understanding of CMS regulations, state‑specific rules, and Aetna compliance policies.
  • Participate in regular internal audits, quality monitoring, and coaching sessions to ensure call quality, schedule adherence, and regulatory compliance.
  • Document all interactions accurately in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, ensuring data integrity for reporting and follow‑up.

Continuous Learning & Development

  • Complete annual American Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Continuing Education (CE) certifications and product certification requirements.

Essential Qualifications

  • 1 – 2 years of proven sales experience, preferably in health‑care or insurance environments.
  • Active health‑insurance license (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
