About the Role: Data Engineer for Advertising Technology

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team, focusing on building and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our advertising business. As a Data Engineer at Netflix, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems that enable us to better understand our members' behavior and preferences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and product managers, to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain large-scale data systems, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes, to support our advertising business
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product managers to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions
  • Develop and maintain data models, data architectures, and data governance policies to ensure data quality and integrity
  • Work with large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions
  • Develop and maintain data visualizations and reports to communicate insights to stakeholders

Essential Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and maintaining large-scale data systems
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or Scala
  • Experience with data processing frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, or Flink
  • Experience with data storage solutions such as relational databases, NoSQL databases, or data warehouses
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and data governance principles
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

In addition to the essential qualifications, we prefer candidates who have:

  • Experience working with advertising technology, including ad serving, ad targeting, and ad measurement
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations, such as GDPR and CCPA
