Experienced Remote Qualified Social Worker – Family Support Specialist for Child and Family Services

Workwarp, in partnership with Remedy Recruitment Group, is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join Milton Keynes Council's Family Support Team as a Family Support Worker. Job Purpose and Responsibilities
The Family Support Team is a multidisciplinary team consisting of ASYE, Social Workers, and Senior Practitioners, led by a Deputy Team Manager and a Team Manager. As a Qualified Social Worker – Family Support Worker, you will be responsible for holding a caseload of approximately 10 families, which translates to around 22 children. Your caseload will be a mix of Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) cases, with more experienced staff handling court cases, but no more than 3 families at a time. You will be expected to complete Section 7 or 37 reports as required.
- Conduct home visits within statutory timescales to assess the needs of children and families
- Develop and implement support plans to ensure the well-being and safety of children
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as healthcare providers, educators, and law enforcement, to provide comprehensive support services
- Prepare and present reports for court proceedings, including private proceedings
- Participate in core group, family support, and strategy meetings, which are typically held via Microsoft Teams
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of case notes, assessments, and support plans
- Engage in regular supervision, which includes personal and case supervision, to ensure your professional development and well-being
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Be registered with the Social Work England (SWE)
- Be eligible to work in the UK
- Have a strong understanding of child protection procedures and legislation
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and professionals from diverse backgrounds
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to your work
- Have a strong commitment to delivering high-quality support services, with a focus on promoting the well-being and safety of children and families
Preferred Qualifications and Requirements
While not essential, the following qualifications and requirements are desirable:
- Previous experience working in a family support team or similar setting
- Knowledge of the local area and community resources
- Experience of working with children and families from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to speak multiple languages
- Experience of using Microsoft Teams and other digital platforms for remote working
