About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Remote Director to lead the live creation of remote games, working closely with schools and college sports creation offices to provide coherence and expertise to the school broadcast organization and student workforce. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating the technical aspects of live remote game broadcasts, ensuring seamless execution, and delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to schools on all aspects of TV creation, including AP and promotion obligations, maker and chief responsibilities, and technical beneath-the-line jobs.
  • Liaise with school creation partners to provide constructive feedback on student-delivered content.
  • Visit school creation partner grounds to assess equipment needs, discuss and suggest industry-standard creation strategies, and provide guidance to school management staff.
  • Design, coordinate, and execute live creations of live, remote games, accurately reporting assigned events.
  • Make on-the-spot decisions regarding what pictures and sounds will be broadcast; interpret information and data to choose shots, highlights, and groupings.
  • Work with the Maker and Activities team to determine camera positions at each setting; design and execute the capture of desired shots, live-to-tape constructs, and arrangements of shots.
  • Collaborate with design experts for the integration of all elements in a broadcast, including graphics, augmented technology components, switcher effects, composite music, and more.
  • Coordinate the technical teams and consultants assigned to remote events; conduct production and technical meetings to define team responsibilities and establish expectations for the team for any given live remote game.
  • Work with the Running division to allocate technical teams for assigned live events; provide post-event feedback and valuable analysis to the Event Activities team.
  • Conduct research on the teams, players, storylines, trends, and more to stay informed on each game/sport assigned.
  • Provide guidance to liveability before broadcasts and lead them, as required, during broadcasts.
  • Makes on-the-spot publication changes by inclusion designs as unexpected circumstances and opportunities arise.
  • Investigates, on-the-spot, operational issues that emerge during assigned live remote games.
  • Ensures that all plugs and advertisements for all assigned creations are accurately embedded.
  • Participates in the development of ideas and content for assigned games to reach audiences and increase market entrance and viewership.
  • For assigned live remote games, collaborates with and communicates as required with teams, associations, school/college staff, coaches, players, and more.
  • Maintains continuous communication with external resources, e.g., talent, production companies, to offer required services, equipment, and components, resources, parts, and data for assigned live remote games.

Essential Capabilities

  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Knowledge of the continuous live game coordinating cycles.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate to all team members during the live broadcast.
  • Knowledge of the technical equipment involved in coordinating live remote games.
  • Extensive live remote game coordinating skills.
  • 4 years of complex live game coordinating experience.
  • Knowledge of endless sports history.

Preferred Capabilities

  • Understanding of the financial implications of coordinating live remote games.
  • Enthusiasm for popular culture, e.g., "what's cool" helps in defining the preferences of ESPN's viewers.
  • Understanding of the market positioning and strategies of assigned games.
  • Travel required.

Required Education

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education

Four-year degree.
