<p><strong><u>Organization Overview</u></strong></p><p><span>United Tribes of Bristol Bay (UTBB) is a Tribal consortium representing Bristol Bay Tribal governments working to sustain the Yup’ik, Dena’ina, and Alutiiq way of life in Bristol Bay. We envision a future where we are thriving as healthy and strong people and communities, rooted in our salmon based cultures and traditional Native values. UTBB focuses its work in the following four strategic areas: (1) long-term guardianship of our lands, air, and waters that sustain our traditional ways of life; (2) empowering Tribal Self-Determination and sovereignty of the Tribes of Bristol Bay; (3) promoting sustainable economic development initiatives that honor our traditional Native values and ways of life; and (4) advancing cultural and community wellbeing for thriving, healthy communities.</span></p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Position Summary</u></strong></p><p><span>The United Tribes of Bristol Bay (UTBB) is seeking a Wellbeing Coordinator (WC) who is committed to advancing community and cultural wellness in Bristol Bay communities. This role is essential to advance UTBB’s vision of a sustainable and thriving Bristol Bay region through coordinating priorities within the Community and Cultural Wellbeing focus area of our work. The WC will assist with development and implementation of community and cultural wellbeing strategies, programs, and partnerships.</span></p><p><br></p><p><span>The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and self-directed professional with relevant experience and/or educational background. They possess exceptional organizational and communication skills—both written and verbal—and thrive in collaborative environments. A direct and strong connection to the Bristol Bay region and its people is essential, as is a willingness to travel regularly. This individual demonstrates leadership, team-building ability, and a flexible, proactive approach in a dynamic work environment. A clear alignment with UTBB’s mission and values is required.</span></p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong></p><ul><li><span>High level of integrity, flexibility, discretion, and professionalism; mission-aligned and culturally and community-centered.</span></li><li><span>Demonstrates a strong commitment to serving and engaging with communities, particularly in the Bristol Bay region.</span></li><li><span>Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and to collaborate with a team.</span></li><li><span>Creative problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset with attention to detail.</span></li><li><span>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences including community members, partners, and funders. </span></li><li><span>Strong ability to develop clear, accessible communications materials. </span></li><li><span>Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and manage different programs and work streams. </span></li><li><span>Skilled in program tracking, data reporting, and basic evaluation methods; able to interpret and communicate progress toward organizational goals.</span></li><li><span>Experience or relevant education in community and cultural wellness practices, activities, and values. </span></li><li><span>Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.) and ability to quickly learn new digital platforms and communications systems.</span></li><li><span>Must be comfortable with frequent urban and rural travel.</span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Primary Duties</u></strong></p><p><strong>Coordinate the development and implementation of community and cultural wellbeing initiatives. </strong></p><ul><li><span>Foster strong relationships with community members, Tribes, and partner organizations through consistent engagement and coalition-building.</span></li><li><span>Strengthen partnerships to address and advance healing and cultural wellbeing</span></li><li><span>Program development, execution, and evaluation. </span></li><li><span>Establish project timelines and coordinate resources to meet strategic goals. </span></li><li><span>Represent UTBB in virtual and in-person meetings, conferences, and events as needed.</span></li><li><span>Track and evaluate the impact of wellbeing efforts using defined metrics and prepare reports for internal and external use. </span></li></ul><p><strong>Administrative & Executive Support</strong></p><ul><li><span>Prepare written communications, updates, and materials as directed by the UTBB leadership. </span></li><li><span>Participate in regular check-ins with UTBB leadership to ensure program alignment and progress.</span></li><li><span>Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. </span></li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Compensation</u></strong></p><p><span>This is a full-time, exempt position (40 hours per week). The salary range for this position is DOE per year. This position is eligible for all available benefits offered through United Tribes of Bristol Bay.</span></p><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Work Environment</u></strong></p><p><span>The employee must be able to work in a flexible and fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands while seeking supervisory assistance where appropriate. The employee must demonstrate a high-level of self-motivation and feel comfortable working independently in addition to being a strong team player. The majority of the position’s duties will be in an office environment.
