About the Role

As a Remote Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will play a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction through inbound and outbound phone calls, email support tickets, chats, forums, and other avenues of communication. Your mission will be to treat customers with respect, dignity, and empathy, resolving their issues efficiently and effectively while building and maintaining the blithequark reputation. You will be responsible for creating an effortless experience for our customers, from the moment they interact with us until they receive their products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inbound customer calls in a friendly and professional manner, using active listening skills to understand and resolve customer issues.
  • Respond to inbound digital communication from customers, handling each customer as if they were the only customer, and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Use upselling techniques to promote blithequark products and services, enhancing the customer experience and driving business growth.
  • Maintain detailed notes in our system for each customer, ensuring an excellent history and preventing customers from having to re-explain their situation.
  • Stay up-to-date with blithequark products, services, and promotions, using this knowledge to answer customer questions and resolve issues effectively.
  • Follow Quality Assurance standards and meet KPI targets, consistently delivering high-quality customer service and support.
  • Place outbound calls as needed to answer voicemails, support tickets, or as directed by management, ensuring timely and effective communication with customers.
  • Prevent cancellations or returns where possible, using problem-solving skills and empathy to resolve customer issues and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Understand when to forward escalated issues to management, ensuring that complex issues are handled efficiently and effectively.
  • Have full knowledge of our internal systems, including Wiki and SOPs, to answer customer questions correctly and provide effective support.
  • Identify trends and patterns in customer feedback, reporting these to management with data and recommendations for improvement.
  • Report any system issues to management, ensuring that technical problems are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Handle special projects and tasks as delegated by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist with training new representatives, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure a smooth onboarding process.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • 2+ years of contact center experience in a call center-related field, including customer service
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, providing customer excellence and meeting KPI targets
  • Comfortable with upselling and using active listening skills to resolve customer issues
  • Strong grammar and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong computer skills, with the ability to work with 10+ systems while answering calls, emails, or chats
  • A mindset that is open and ready to embrace change, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment
  • Coachable, with a willingness to receive feedback and coaching to improve performance and meet QA KPI measurements

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be advantageous in this role:

  • Previous experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with customer service software and technology, including CRM systems and helpdesk tools
  • Knowledge of blithequark products and services, or similar products in the camping & outdoor, emergency preparedness, and health & wellness categories
  • Certifications or training in customer service, sales, or a related field
