Job Overview
As a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Apprentice at blithequark, you will be at the forefront of customer interaction, developing strong patient relationships and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, according to state, federal, and company policies and procedures.
- Use pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience, engaging customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with services and products.
- Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers and resolve customer issues and answer inquiries to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy.
- Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, and report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
- Strictly adhere to blithequark's policy regarding faithful dispensing across all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
- Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle cash as required, and take customers to the OTC aisle when possible to assist in finding products.
- Handle phone calls that don't require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians.
- Process (correct and resubmit) manual claims for third-party application prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
Essential Qualifications
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Preferred qualifications include six months of experience in a retail environment, previous work experience with blithequark, desirable math skills, and basic computer skills.
- Preferred knowledge of store inventory control and % certification.
