Part-Time Global Benefits Specialist – Contract
Job Description:
• Engage in day-to-day administration, research, planning, and development of U.S. health and global benefit programs.
• Oversee 401(k) administration and annual 5500 audit, ensuring compliance with federal and state statutes such as ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and SFHCO, as well as regional guidelines.
• Streamline global processes for absence management, global time off, wellbeing, and family forming programs.
• Foster strong relationships with Global teams in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC for consultative advice and policy interpretation.
• Partner with local Managers, People Business Partners, Payroll, and Legal teams to administer benefit programs effectively.
• Monitor new and emerging benefits legislation, ensuring global compliance and applying solid judgment to benefits governance.
• Analyze new and changed global/local laws for compliance and perform ad-hoc reviews to ensure best practices.
• Provide data analytics on the value, utilization, and costs of offered programs for leadership visibility.
• Collaborate closely with U.S. and Global Consultant/Brokers on benefits design, roadmap, strategies, and cost implications, including annual renewals and RFPs.
• Proactively manage vendor relationships, challenging the status quo to ensure performance and quality expectations are met.
• Serve as an internal consultant and benefits subject matter expert to People & Workplace Resources partners.
• Coordinate with team members and external partners on benefit communications, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, building strong business relationships.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in U.S. employee Benefits, with 2+ years of progressive Global Benefits experience.
• Global leaves experience preferred; knowledge of U.S. leave laws and benefits practices required.
• Ability to think globally, strategically, and objectively to translate data into actionable insights and strategies.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple assignments successfully in a fast-paced environment.
• Solutions-oriented mindset, fostering collaboration with various teams.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate level Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS experience; Workday experience is a plus.
• Ability to confidentially manage highly sensitive information with discretion.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills at all levels of management.
