Job Overview

This part-time Data Entry Technician position is a fantastic chance to join our customs brokerage team, working 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 8 AM and 5 PM. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely data entry into our operating system, understanding and identifying customs documentation, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Understand and identify customs documentation, including customs declarations and other relevant documents.
  • Transpose customs declaration information from documents into the customs entry system, allowing for the build of a valid customs declaration.
  • Verify documents received for import customs purposes are compliant and correct, ensuring adherence to regulations and standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service, building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, maintaining a strong understanding of customs brokerage procedures and protocols.
  • Daily execution of workflow and department metrics, contributing to the team's overall performance and success.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, logistics, or a related field.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, and communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including solid data entry with a high accuracy rate, email, internet, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • A growth mindset, with a desire to learn and develop your skills in the logistics and supply chain management industry.
  • A strong desire for a career in supply chain/logistics, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are highly desirable:

  • Previous experience in data entry, customs brokerage, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and procedures, including Harmonized System (HS) codes and customs declaration requirements.
  • Experience with operating systems and software applications used in the logistics and supply chain management industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
