Job Overview

As a Data Entry Keyer at blithequark, you will be an integral part of our administrative team, responsible for accurately and efficiently entering data into our computer systems. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will ensure that our systems are up-to-date and running smoothly. You will work independently with minimal supervision, reading work orders, shipping orders, and other customer service documents, and entering data from them into our computer systems. Your role is critical to the success of our company, and we are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read customer and shipping orders submitted in person, via print catalog, and online, and decipher handwriting that can be hard to read
  • Key data into specific Microsoft Excel fields, with a focus on accuracy and consistency
  • Read and key in data from other source documents, verifying that the data is accurate before entry
  • Ensure that data is consistent throughout the system, updating records as necessary
  • Report any data errors or anomalies to your supervisor, and maintain accurate and updated logs of ongoing work
  • Perform filing, copying, and other administrative duties for approximately three hours per day, with the remaining five hours dedicated to data entry keying

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong reading comprehension and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Patience and attention to detail, with the ability to work on repetitive tasks for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following skills and qualifications are preferred:

  • Reading knowledge of English, with approximately 5-10% of orders also in Spanish
  • One to two years of experience with data entry and/or filing
  • Social perceptiveness and service orientation, with a focus on providing excellent customer service

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $14.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
