Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Customer Representative to join our team at blithequark. As a Strategic Customer Representative, you will play a critical role in increasing market share with contractors and end-users in the preconstruction Data Center space. You will develop and strengthen customer relationships, increase product awareness, and present our solution-based capabilities to drive sales growth. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate sales calls with local, regional, and/or national sellers on customers that perform data center construction, ensuring a seamless and effective sales process
- Develop, maintain, and strengthen internal relationships with the local Outside Sales Reps and Branch Managers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the data center space as well as end-user companies, including engineers and decision makers, to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
- Create and deliver compelling presentations to showcase products and services relevant to data center construction, highlighting the value proposition and unique selling points of blithequark's offerings
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and client needs within the data center sector, using this knowledge to tailor sales strategies and stay ahead of the competition
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities by networking, attending industry events, and leveraging existing contacts, to drive business growth and expansion
- Prepare customized proposals and pricing models based on customer requirements, ensuring alignment with company standards and maximizing revenue potential
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with customers, aiming for mutually beneficial terms while ensuring profitability for blithequark
- Provide ongoing support to customers to address any issues, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term relationships, and driving repeat business and referrals
- Follow up with clients after the sale to gather feedback, assist with implementation, and identify future sales opportunities, to ensure customer satisfaction and drive business growth
- Work closely with internal engineering, marketing, and support teams to ensure product offerings meet customer needs and expectations, and to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement
- Meet or exceed sales targets, maintaining accurate records of sales activities and client interactions in the company's CRM system, and using data and insights to inform sales strategies and optimize performance
- Educate clients about product features, benefits, and best practices, helping them optimize their data center operations and achieve their business goals
- Travel regionally to meet customers, attend trade shows, and explore potential new markets or partnerships, to drive business growth and expansion
- Develop relationships with the targeted Strategic Customers within their assigned territory, with the goal of becoming the "first call" with these customers, and driving sales growth and customer satisfaction
- Attend national and regional trade shows as necessary, to stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and to network with key stakeholders and decision makers
- Review, design, and update as necessary customer programs (rebates, rates, quick pays, portals, etc), to ensure they are aligned with customer needs and expectations, and to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
- Keep appropriate business leaders (RMs, VPs, etc) apprised of activities, progress or issues with strategic customers, to ensure effective communication and collaboration, and to drive business growth and expansion
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager, to support the overall strategy and goals of blithequark, and to drive business growth and success
- Support the overall strategy of the company and the Power & HVAC line of business, by driving sales growth, customer satisfaction, and business expansion, and by identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement
- Increase revenue and return on investment on specific and assigned product lines and market segments, by developing and executing effective sales strategies, and by driving business growth and expansion
- Assist team with in-depth product specification training for all team members, to ensure they have the knowledge and skills needed to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
- Actively engage and keep the team involved in tradeshows and associations, to stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and to network with key stakeholders and decision makers
- Manage specific projects on an as needed basis to drive revenue and maximize return on investment, by developing and executing effective project plans, and by driving business growth and expansion
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A college degree or equivalent work experience plus 6-8+ years in Outside Sales or Sales Management role, with a proven track record of driving sales growth and customer satisfaction
- Documented successful territory management showing consistent revenue growth, and a strong understanding of sales strategies and techniques
- Comfortable cold calling on new accounts, and a strong ability to build relationships and drive sales growth
- Basic Microsoft Office skills, and a strong ability to use technology to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
- Comfortable calling on jobsites and corporate office, and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Ability to incorporate the Specialty Businesses into their presentations and product offerings, and a strong understanding of the data center sector and its trends and developments
- Product training to be provided by the various blithequark experts, by division, to ensure you have the knowledge and skills needed to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
- Work remotely from home or from the local blithequark office, with no relocation required, and a strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
- 60% to 75% travel, to meet customers, attend trade shows, and explore potential new markets or partnerships, and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Salesforce experience preferred but not required, and a strong ability to use technology to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction
Physical Demands
The physical demands of this role include:
- Bending, squatting, crouching, and/or reaching and lifting up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job, and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work, and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
