Emergency Dispatcher 7-E8 - Intelligence Operations / Lansing Regional Communication Center
About the position
Responsibilities
• Coordinate the deployment of emergency personnel and equipment during crises.
• Provide critical information and services to police officers in the field.
• Conduct preliminary investigations and interpret complex computer printouts.
• Utilize interrogation techniques, CPR, and Basic First Aid as required.
• Maintain effective communication with law enforcement personnel and external agencies.
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• For Emergency Dispatcher E8: One year of experience equivalent to an Emergency Dispatcher 7.
• CPR certification may be required.
• Pass the agency-administered examination testing computer and dispatching skills.
• Pass a pre-employment screening, including a criminal history background check.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience in public safety and emergency service operations.
• Knowledge of Emergency Dispatch Center operations.
• Experience using communication devices and equipment for dispatching.
