Training Developer/Trainer - MUST RESIDE IN CA
We are seeking an organized and proactive Training Developer/Trainer to join our team and support the development and execution of comprehensive training plans for a large-scale IT Project. This role will be essential in ensuring that social workers for California's Department of Child Welfare Services receive the necessary training to succeed in their roles once the new case management system has been implemented.
The Training Developer/Trainer will work closely with leadership and department heads to develop and implement staff development programs, based on detailed training plans.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or Instructional Design.
• Experience with Storyline 360 and learning management systems (LMS).
• Strong facilitation skills with experience leading onsite training sessions.
• Experience working on large-scale software implementation projects.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work with various stakeholders, including leadership, subject matter experts, and employees.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to create clear, engaging training materials.
Preferred:
• Experience in developing and managing large-scale training plans or corporate training programs.
• Experience working for a County.
• Experience managing Training Plans and Facilities Plans.
• Knowledge of instructional design principles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop Training Plans: Design, create, and manage comprehensive training plans that align with organizational goals. This includes creating training schedules, learning objectives, and identifying key performance metrics for success.
• Staff Development: Collaborate with department leads and HR to identify skills gaps, design personalized learning programs, and provide ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance employee capabilities.
• Project Management: Oversee the implementation of training programs and ensure they are executed on time and within budget. Manage the resources required for successful training execution, including coordinating logistics, materials, and facilitators.
• Content Creation: Work closely with subject matter experts to develop and update training content for a variety of formats (e.g., online courses, classroom training, workshops, and instructional manuals). Ensure content is relevant, engaging, and aligned with the latest industry standards.
• Facilitation and Coordination: Lead or coordinate the delivery of training sessions, workshops, and seminars. Ensure all sessions run smoothly, handle participant inquiries, and address any challenges that arise during training events.
• Training Schedules and Tracking: Create and maintain detailed training schedules, ensuring training sessions are planned and resources are properly allocated. Track employee training progress and completion, maintaining accurate records of all training activities.
• Training Completion Certificates: Generate and distribute training completion certificates to participants who successfully finish training courses, ensuring proper documentation and recognition of their achievements.
• Evaluate Effectiveness: Assess the success of training programs through feedback, surveys, and performance metrics. Use this data to continuously improve training plans and approaches, ensuring that staff development goals are being met.
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, feedback, and progress. Prepare reports for management on training outcomes, effectiveness, and future needs.
• Collaboration: Work alongside various departments to understand training needs and develop tailored programs that address those needs. Foster a collaborative learning environment that promotes employee engagement and retention.
