Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced educator who is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. As a Remote Virtual Teacher - DHH, you will be responsible for designing and executing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student, providing engaging virtual lessons that utilize diverse tools, including American Sign Language (ASL), and collaborating with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to build a comprehensive support system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each student
  • Provide engaging virtual lessons that utilize diverse tools, including American Sign Language (ASL), to facilitate effective communication and learning
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to build a comprehensive support system for students
  • Incorporate assistive technologies to enhance communication and improve learning experiences
  • Ensure every student receives individualized attention, with a focus on their distinct educational and emotional needs

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Strong communication skills with a passion for engaging with diverse learners
  • Experience in utilizing online teaching platforms and virtual learning tools
  • Ability to create and maintain Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Competence in integrating assistive technologies in educational settings
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Deaf Education, or a related field
  • Valid state certification for teaching deaf and hard-of-hearing students
  • Previous experience in online teaching environments
