We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Desktop Support Engineer to join our vibrant remote team. With 30 years of experience in clearing listed derivatives, our company has established itself as a leading provider of bespoke services to clients worldwide. As a key member of our IT team, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional support and ensuring the seamless operation of our global systems.


Role Overview:

As a Desktop Support Engineer, you'll provide 1st and 2nd line IT support to users globally, working closely with our server and network engineering teams. You'll be responsible for:

  • Providing prompt and effective diagnosis and resolution of incidents and service requests
  • Escalating incidents to 3rd line support as needed
  • Taking ownership of projects from inception to delivery
  • Maintaining PC operating systems and supporting server and client PC software
  • Carrying out daily checks and monitoring systems, resolving or escalating any issues
  • Being the initial point of contact for IT problems, either over the phone, in person, or via Teams
  • Logging all calls on our Service-Now help desk system
  • Working with third-party vendors to resolve issues and managing IT procurement

Requirements:

  • Technical skills: Windows 10 knowledge and troubleshooting, desktop hardware, printer hardware, computer builds, FTP, web servers, monitoring systems, networking experience, and PowerShell or other scripting language
  • Experience with the administration of Active Directory, VMware vSphere, Sophos, Office 365 applications, Exchange online, Azure AD, Azure MFA, Intune, Group policy, Mitel voip systems, SCCM, Microsoft remote desktop services, print servers, and Service-Now
  • Good interpersonal and customer care skills, with the ability to interact with people at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and a calm and systematic approach to troubleshooting issues
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and respond to immediate incidents
