We are a leading provider of listed derivatives, with 30 years of experience and a global presence. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our clients, and we're looking for a skilled Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team.
Role:
The successful candidate will provide quality IT services and support to our global users, working closely with our server and network engineering teams. This role requires a strong technical skillset, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st and 2nd line diagnosis of incidents and service requests, implementing solutions and escalating to 3rd line support when necessary.
- Take ownership of projects from inception to delivery, ensuring the ongoing operational efficiency of all aspects of our IT systems.
- Maintain PC operating systems, support server and client PC software, and perform daily checks to monitor systems and resolve/escalate any issues.
- Be the initial point of contact for IT problems, logging all calls on our service-now help desk system and resolving issues within an expected time frame.
- Keep internal documentation and knowledge base up to date and accurate, and be available for out-of-hours on-call support according to a rota.
- Work with third-party vendors to resolve issues, and be responsible for dealing with vendors for IT procurement, including renewing licenses, purchasing PCs, and IT consumables.
Requirements:
- Technical Skills: Windows 10 knowledge and troubleshooting, desktop hardware, printer hardware, computer builds, FTP, web servers, monitoring systems, networking experience, and PowerShell or other scripting language.
- Experience with the administration of Active Directory, VMware vSphere, Sophos, Office 365 applications, Exchange online, Azure AD, Azure MFA, Intune, Group policy, Mitel voip systems, SCCM, Microsoft remote desktop services, print servers, and Service-Now.
- Good interpersonal and customer care skills, with the ability to interact with people at all levels, both face-to-face, on the telephone, and in writing.
- Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and a calm and systematic approach to troubleshooting issues in a pressured environment.
- Experience working within a Financial/Trading/Clearing environment would be advantageous.
