Role Description

As a skilled Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing, verifying, and processing invoices for payment to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, resolving payment discrepancies, and handling vendor inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Reconciling invoices with purchase orders and receipts to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Initiating and coordinating payments to vendors, including checks, electronic transfers, and ACH payments, to ensure seamless transactions.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports on accounts payable activities, including outstanding balances, cash flow projections, and aging reports, to inform business decisions.
  • Monitoring and controlling company expenses by evaluating payment terms and negotiating discounts with vendors to optimize financial performance.
  • Identifying and resolving issues related to accounts payable, such as disputes, late payments, or missing documentation, to minimize risks and ensure compliance.
  • Performing ad hoc tasks aligned with the above responsibilities to support the team and drive business success.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of Accounts Payable and/or General Accounting experience, or equivalent, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and English communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with vendors, colleagues, and management.
  • Flexibility to work overnight/graveyard shifts in Philippine time or within US operating hours, with a strong ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, databases, and accounting software, including QuickBooks, SAP, or other relevant software.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis, to drive business insights and inform decision-making.
  • A strong working knowledge of accounting software and tools, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and technologies.
  • An in-depth understanding of accounts payable principles, accounting standards, and account reconciliation, with a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certifications are a plus, but not required.
